Recently I came across an article which brought fore the relation between quality content and link building. SEO experts have declared a war on Google by artificial and low quality link building, bypassing the need to put good quality content on websites. Google hit back with Panda update and down ranked many such websites which were content farms.
What Google wants and asks us to do
- Quality and well researched content
- Keyword research for articles
- Original content with authentic links
- Promote website and content with larger audience
- Ask your readers and followers to put in a good word on their own websites
- Ask for back links from high quality and high ranking websites after you connect with them
What Google does not like
- Webmasters buying back links
- Webmasters selling back links
- Content farms
- Link building without quality content
- Posting low quality links on social media and comment section
- Creating paid promotional content which has little or no relation with the theme of your website
