By far this is the most common remark you shall hear which will irritate. You will always have some young one around who will get thousands of likes on their reels or shorts. But somehow this success does not come to you.
Let us analyse the situation in detail.
Fact No 1 – Social media is for connecting and entertainment
Social media networks are not for business. People surfing on social media do not have any intention of buying. Others are part of buy sell groups where they fulfil their shopping desires. Chances are people will outright ignore your brand posts.
If you want people to notice your post, you have to add that key ingredient which will swing a buying decision for you.
You might not like it but a woman brand owner will get friendly messages of social media. You just have to deftly weave your way around.
Fact No 2 – My posts will get better response if I post it daily at 8 pm
If you are trying to crack the Instagram algorithm, you can forget about it. This algorithm keeps evolving and the decision makers are a very small group. So all those influencers who are claiming to have uncovered the secret of making a post viral, keep away from them. They will give you hopes which will be dashed soon. Themselves they boost each and every post so that they can show off their stats as organic.
Besides something working for someone might not work for you. I would suggest you delink social media posts with sales unless there is something specific you need to sell.
Fact No 3 – I am getting more reach from reels
Reels are designed for entertainment. But reels are heavily promoted by scores of users. So there is no knowing which reel has gone viral and which was paid for. In case of reels, it is sheer numbers and some very clever programming by Instagram. A reel as compared to a post will always have more views. Exactly as Instagram had predicted people will spend a lot of time on watching reels. It is also what Instagram is serving to the people that determines the views too.
So if you are looking for reach, then definitely reels is your way to go. But for brand owners this becomes somewhat a challenge. You content will reach the audience, but will that translate to sales.
Fact No 4 – Are you learning the tricks of the trade rather than the trade itself?
Short cuts are part of life. They are also a way to make your work smart. But if you are trying shortcuts to get quick results, then brand management is not your cup of tea. It requires lots of time and patience to build something which is visible to people and whom people can trust. Your clients will not like shortcuts. Working on your brand shows. But what is more important is that you are going to immerse yourself in brand building to boost your confidence and enhance the quality of your services. Do not think your clients to be fooled easily. They can spot a fake miles away.
Invest time to learn about your product or service.
Fact No 5 – Is your content good enough?
Of all the strategies you make for sales, content is most often neglected. Badly designed poster. Poorly clicked photo, some people even manage a bad shot even with an iPhone.
There are several business accounts on Instagram which post pictures without caption. If this is the careless level of your commitment, then you will never be able to even launch your brand to achievable targets.
In social media parlance it is always said, ‘Content is King’
